Dr. Keri Berka

Keri was born and raised in Brightwaters, NY. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, in 2000 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri – Colombia in 2004. When not saving small furry lives, she enjoys running, golfing, hiking, and snowshoeing with her husband, Ethan. She is eternally trying to beat her husband at golf (he normally shoots under par, so its an impossible feat!). Ethan and Keri live in Huntington Beach. They have two “children” – a Blue Great Dane puppy named Magnolia Mae and a nine-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat named Kitty #2. Now that he is married to a vet, Ethan hopes that Kitty #2 will live a long, healthy life, and there will not be a Kitty #3 in the near future. Keri hopes that Samantha makes the Guiness Book of World Records as the oldest living Great Dane.

Suzanne Hum (Veterinary Technician)

Suzanne was born in Dallas, . She has been a Southern California native for longer than she’ll tell us (as a true lady never reveals her age!). Suzanne has been married to her husband, John, for 29 years and they live in Seal Beach. John and Suzanne have two human sons, Sgt. Wesley Hum, USMC and Zachary Hum, a senior Economics major at San Jose State University. She enjoys SCUBA diving, golf, Tae Kwon Do (Third Degree Black), and power-boating. Her “furry children” include Bubbles the English Bulldog, Bouncer the Pug, Kitty the Great Pyrenese, 4 cats: Snar, Pod, Pie, & Captain Winkles the one-eyed wonder, and six birds…..she admits she has a problem, but still refuses to admit her age…

Heather Ulrich (Front Desk)

Heather was born and raised in Orange County, CA (we have a local!). She currently lives in Whittier with the love of her life, Danny. When she is wrangling the patients at the front desk while simultaneously greeting everyone with her cheery California smile, she enjoys playing softball, rooting for the CA Angels (actually…a FANATIC!), floating on the Colorado River, and motorcycle riding in Glamis. Heather has “the best and the cutest dog in the entire world” (according to Heather) named Torii….see….told you she was an Angel fan!

Debbie Martin (Office Manager)

Melissa Rodriguez (Receptionist/Tech Assistant)

Melissa was born and raised in Fountain Valley, CA, where she still resides (another local!). When she actually has time away from the office, Melissa enjoys going to Angels Games. However, she is truly a Yankees Fan, and is a fanatic about watching them on TV (Dr. Berka’s Dad would be extremely proud!). In addition, Melissa is an extremely accomplished ballet dancer, who has been refining her craft since the age of 7!! (We don’t ask to see her feet, as we all know how charming ballet dancers’ feet are after years of being “en-point”). Melissa has a small menagerie, including: Arm Band an 18-year-old cat, and three dogs, Ruby, Jade, and Gemma. She states “there are way too many to list all the rest!”.
